June 13, 2011 - Dear Delta Health Foundation....What a luxurious day I had! Settling into the upstairs apartment with its full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and two baths made me feel like I was off at some well put together retreat center. Then it was the amazing experience of "restorative yoga" with Dacia. I always expect to work hard when I do yoga - this was a gentle exercise of learning how to hold myself without pushing myself to the edge. I was used to the Namaste at the end of the hour, but with Dacia, it felt like she had been doing the Namaste with us the whole time.
The time in the pool made me feel like a kid again. Usually when I am at a pool, I am tending to my son. This time, it was all about the exuberance of being in water on a hot summer's day. Our lunch with salmon caught by Loree in Alaska (you shouldn't tell a lot of people about that - you will be out of salmon in no time!) and this great herbed balsamic dressing.......only to be soon followed by the best massage I have ever had.
Honestly, I do not live by exclamation points, but it is hard to not be impressed by grounds that lend themselves to reflection, water in which to play and reflect, nourishing food and gifted people who generously share their talents. All this in one day....my heart overflows!
